This class demonstrates what it takes to function appropriately in polite society. We learn business and table manners, grooming techniques and appropriate dress, poise, and gracefulness. Our goal is to bring each participant to a place where, at the end of this course, others describe her as “a strong woman who is also a lady.”

Anyone can find a job, but building a career is totally different.  The Career Building class is structured to help each person discover their ability to live a life filled with hope and a sense of purpose.  We work on overcoming personal problems, developing a positive self-image, and achieving goals that lead to feelings of accomplishment.  In doing this, it also helps students to understand God’s purpose for their lives.

“Why learn to manage my money? I don’t have much of it anyway.”  Sounds reasonable, but it’s not.  You will learn how to take back the control of your money. You’ll learn skills that will help you right now and prepare you for a successful financial future: budgeting, banking, credit repair, etc. Imagine what can happen when you begin spending your money wisely.

This course is designed to take each participant from sitting down at a computer for the very first time to being able to operate in today’s office environment. Sessions include keyboarding, computer operation, maintenance, navigating the internet and e-mail, Microsoft Word and Excel. We also cover internet security and how to wisely purchase a computer.

Then each participant will have the chance to put these skills into practice in a mock interview setting.

Discover the secret to having better relationships. In “The Relationship Principles of Jesus,” Tom Holladay outlines six principles taken from Jesus’ example that will help you love, listen and serve others as He did. Gain insights into fulfilling God’s intention for all your relationships–even the difficult ones.

This class helps our participants settle issues and feelings that have brought them where they are today. This is a very eye-opening, freeing series, as participants find the true meaning of forgiveness…both for others and themselves.

Each year a contemporary book is chosen for study that deals with women’s issues. Past titles include “When A Woman Overcomes Life’s Hurts” by Cindi McMenamin, “All the Pretty Things” by Edie Wadsworth, “When Wallflowers Dance” by Angela Thomas, and “The Purpose Driven Life” by Rick Warren.

In this class, participants learn the basic skills necessary to keep cars in good working condition and extend the life of the vehicle. The instructor, an experienced mechanic himself, also directs the class about how to spot dishonest auto mechanics and avoid being cheated.
